David T. Brooks, FACHE


A native of Detroit, Dave Brooks earned his bachelor's degree with honors from Wayne State University and his master's degree in health services administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. He resides in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI with his wife and two children.


Dave has served in executive roles at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit for ten years, Christus Health in Houston, Texas, Central DuPage Health in Chicago, and Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque.


Dave came to Saint Joseph Mercy Health System from Ascension St. John Providence Health System where he served as President of St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit and Senior Vice President of the Health System’s East Region. Previously, he was Chief Executive Officer of Providence Health in Everett, Washington. During his ten-year tenure there he led its transformation from a community hospital into a regional referral network while advancing new models of clinical and community leadership.


Prior to joining Wayne County, he was at Saint Joseph Mercy Health System, a member of Trinity Health, as President of St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor and Livingston. In this role, he led all operations and strategy for two hospitals, affiliated acute care facilities, surgery centers, emergency rooms and urgent cares, and many ambulatory and physician practices.


He was Wayne County’s (Michigan) Director of Health, Human & Veterans Services. In this role he was part of the leadership team for one of the largest counties in the country with 1.8 million residents. He led the public health and clinical services along with veterans, juvenile justice, and medical examiner services.


Dave joined Patient Education Genius, now known as People.Health, in January of 2020 as the Chief Strategy Officer.

Karen Conway, MSc, CMRP, CLSSGB


Karen Conway advances the role of supply chain to achieve a value-based healthcare system that optimizes the cost and quality of care, while improving both equity and sustainability in care delivery. She applies her knowledge of supply chain operations and systems thinking to align data and processes to improve health outcomes and the performance of organizations upon which an effective healthcare system depends.


In 2020, Karen provided closing remarks for a G20 Summit pre-event on leadership to achieve sustainability in the health sector, and she led the supply chain curricula at recent national summits on health system recovery, health equity and ESG.


Karen is former national chair of AHRMM, the supply chain association for the American Hospital Association, and has served on the healthcare advisory board for CAPS Research and on the GS1 Global Healthcare Leadership Team. She currently serves as board secretary for Strategic Marketplace Initiative (SMI) and on the Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council (HSCC) and the working group on forced labor in the healthcare supply chain under the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Families and Children.


Karen co-wrote a best-selling book on global leadership, Leading from the Edge (ATD Press, 2013) and is a co-author of Strategic Management of the Healthcare Supply Chain (Wiley, 2023). Conway holds a masters in the Science of Healthcare Delivery from Arizona State University and a bachelor's degree from Colorado College.


Karen is currently the VP, Healthcare Value; Head of ESG at Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX).

Ben Wiederholt, FACHE


Ben Wiederholt, FACHE, has been a healthcare executive for 18 years and is currently the President of Icarus Advising which supports organizations in the journey to a patient-first delivery system that is more effective, efficient, and equitable.


His most recent engagement was serving as the Interim CEO of a nonprofit accountable care organization formed around a Colorado statewide network of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). Ben led a strategic planning process along with the annual budget and work plan. During his short tenure, private payer contracts were expanded, budget expectations were exceeded by 15x, and net assets grew by 38%.


Prior to launching his consulting business, Ben was the CEO at STRIDE Community Health Center, a FQHC with 17 locations throughout the Denver Metro area serving 55,000 people a year who are economically poor. During his 5-year tenure, finances were stabilized as cash quadrupled, visits increased by 97%, quality outcomes improved including dramatic increases in value-based care payments, and programs were expanded including school-based health centers.


Ben’s determined focus, growth mindset, and system thinking leads to new standards of excellence in patient experience, quality, sustainability, and community partnerships. Over his nearly two decades of executive healthcare experience, Ben has consistently exceeded expectations throughout multiple acute, ambulatory, post-acute, and care at home settings.


He has also served as the Vice President of Mission Integration in the Kentucky and Colorado markets and as the Director of Ambulatory Operations at Centura Health. He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Ben’s education includes a bachelor's degree in religious studies and a minor in Philosophy from Edgewood College in Madison, WI. He also earned a master's degree in theology from the Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis, MO, and a master's degree in health care administration from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.


Ben’s joy is found through his wife Jess and their seven children: Joz, Lillian, Samuel, Luke, Abiti, Joseph, and Abe. In addition to spending time with his family, he is a sports enthusiast as an observer and practitioner.

Michael Isaacs


Michael Isaacs is an accomplished human resource executive with success achieving quantifiable results through the development and management of organization-wide HR strategy implementation.


Michael has worked in healthcare and human resources for more than two decades driving results in diverse environments from complex health systems to private equity and venture backed distributed environments. He directs all HR functions, including talent acquisition, policy design, employee relations, compliance, and professional development.


Currently, Michael is Head of People for Hopscotch Health, a VC-backed advanced primary company focused on improving lives in rural communities.
